And that should help us manage our storms.
Psalm 62:8 says: Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Deuteronomy 12:10-11: But when you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all your enemies round about, so that you dwell in safety, then there will be the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide. Mark 4:39 says: Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. I have picked these three scriptures because each one tells us something different. Sometimes we just need to #trust God and pour all that troubles us out to Him, then rest knowing He's got it in His control. Other times we need to cross from 'here' to 'there', and even though we are afraid to do so, God has promised us safety in doing so and once we get there. Other times He will stand and calm the storm around us. Regardless of which it is, or indeed any other examples in the Bible, God is always with us. He gave us His helper, the Holy Spirit, to guide us, teach us and help us. We are never alone. He is with us because He loves us and because we have a relationship with Him. Peace is not the absence of trouble. It is the presence of Christ. And that is awesome!! No matter what storm you are facing, you are blessed in it and through it. That's a promise! |
